In Jewish tradition, round hallah bread is eaten during the High Holy Days as a symbol of the cycle of life and wholeness of the universe.
With its intricate motif of stylized flowers and vines, this round hallah plate is based on Judaic manuscripts from the 1880s. The blue and white pattern is both historic and symbolic, as it recalls the traditional transferware technique from eighteenth-century Europe and reflects the colors of the state of Israel.
The center of the plate features the Hebrew word Shabbat.
Made of high-quality ceramic.
Size: 11.5" diameter
