High Holy Days
Rosh Hashanah (New Year) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) are often called the High Holy Days. But the traditional term, Yamim Nora'im (Days of Awe), comes closer to capturing their spirit of humility and soul-searching. These days mark the season when Jews reflect upon mortality and the meaning of life. Jews are asked to confront their moral and spiritual failures, to seek forgiveness from those whom they have hurt, and to renew life and love.
